Biology Blog # 7 - Describe Ecological Succession.

  1. Ecological Succession is the changes in the structure of a community over time. It can occur in an unoccupied habitat, or it can be caused by a disturbance of a community that already exists. There are two types of succession: Primary Succession-no soil present, and Secondary Succession-soil is present. Different types of organisms begin to grow and develop in the area, and change as succession continues.

  2. Ecological Succession is the series of predictable changes that occurs in a community over time. The two main factors are...
    - Primary Succession: Succession that occurs on surfaces where no soil exists. ex) occurs in surfaces formed from volcanic eruptions
-Secondary Succession: Succession following a disturbance that destroys a community without destroying the soil. ex)occurs after a wildfire

  4. Ecological succession is the gradual change in living communities that follows a disturbance. The two different types of ecological succession are primary succession and secondary succession. Primary succession occurs on surfaces where no soil exists. It forms soil in which plants can grow. Secondary succession is whencomponents of an ecosystem are changed by natural events, such as fires, or by human activities, such as farming.

  5. ecological succession is natural, gradual changes in the types of species that live in the area. It also means the gradual replacement of one plant community by another through natural processes over time. Primary succession begins in a place without any soil and secondary succession begins in a place that has soil and was once the home of a living organism.

  6. Ecological Succession is the changes in the structure of a community over a period of time. It may occur in an unoccupied habitat, or it may be caused by a disturbance to a community that already exists. Primary Succession and Secondary Succession are two types of succession. Primary Succession is when there is no soil to start with and Secondary Succession is when soil is already there. Organisms of different kinds begin to develop and grow in the area and succession continues.

  7. Ecological succession is the changes of a community over time. There are 2 main factors in ecological succession. The fist is primary succession, this occurs where there is so soil to begin with. The second is secondary succession, this occurs when the community starts out with soil. Over a long period of time, plants begin to grow, allowing animals to populate the area.

  8. Ecological Succession is the natural, gradual changes in the types of species that live in an area and the replacement of one plant community to another through natural processes over time. Primary succession begins in a plce without any soil such as the side of a volcano. It starts with the arrival of a pioneer species like lichen. After the death of the lichen and because of erosion and weather forces, simple plants begin to grow. Secondary succession begins in a place that already had soil and was home to living organisms. This occurs faster and has a different pioneer species than primary succession. An example of secondary succession is after a forest fire.

ecological succession is the change in a community overtime.

    there are two types:

→ primary succession- succession that occurs in a community without soil ex: volcanic eruptions

→ secondary succession- succession that occurs in a community with soil, but the succession doesn't affect the soil ex: forest fires

  14. Ecological Succession is the changes in a living community over time after a disturbance. There are 2 types: Primary Succession (begins without soil) and Secondary Succession (begins in a place already with soil). As the area grows, different types of organisms begin to grow and change as the cycle of succession goes on.

Ecologial Succession; changes structure of a community over time. it's caused by disturbance of community that exist.

2 types of succession: One is Primary succession, where no siol exists. second is Secondary succession, when siol is occurred after disturbance that destroys community.

Ecologial Succession is the change of structures of a community over time. It's cause by outside disturbances that exist that destroys the other communities. Examples: sides of volcanoes, after wildfires, and farming.

  24. ecological succesion is the change of the trees and nature on earth. for example when a fire burns a forest then afterwards grass and trees grow back. that whole ex is ecological succession

Ecological succession is the change in different environments over time. The two different types of ecological succession are primary succession and secondary succession. Primary succession occurs on surfaces where no soil exists. Secondary succession is when factors in an ecosystem are changed by natural events, such as wild/forest fires, or by human activities, such as farming.

  27. Ecological succession is the gradual change in communities after a disturbance. There is primary succession, which occurs on surfaces with no soil. The soil is slowly remade until plants can grow in it. Secondary succession follows a disturbance that destroys the community, but not the soil. This happens faster because there is already soil for plants to start growing in again.

Ecological succession is how living organisms develops in a place with no living organisms to start with. first the process begins with algae or other species that does not need soil to survive and uses photosynthesis for energy. slowly larger organisms begin to inhabit and develop a new ecosystem.

  29. Ecological succession is the change in a community over time.
Primary succesion occurs on a place where soil doesnt exist like lava. Secondary succession is where soil does exist. Both of these are results of a disturbance such as a fire.

Ecological Succession is the gradual changes in a living community followed by a disturbance. Primary Sucssion:no soil present. Secondary sucession:soil is present. Due to both circumstances, both sucessions grow and develop.

Ecological Succession is a series of a series of predictable changes that occurs in community over time. Because ecosystems are constantly changing due to natural and human disturbances, these ecosystems change. During these changes, older inhabitants gradually die out and new organisms move in, causing more changes in the community. Sometimes this process is caused by slow changes in a physical environment. Also, a sudden natural disturbance due to human activity could also cause Ecological Succession.

  38. Ecological Succesion is when the structure of a community changes over time. Two main factors are
1)Primary succecsion: which is when plants start to evolve where no soil is and it is a surface like volcanic eruptions
2)Secondary Succesion: When a community is destoryed without the soil hamred.

  39. Ecoligical succecion is when the community is changed over time. Two typpes are Primary Succesion which is when a community is formed and plants where there is no soil like in Volcanic Eruptions
Another is the Secondary succesion when a community is deatroyed but soil isnt

  40. Ecological succession is gradual change in living communities that follows a disturbance. So constant changes in response to changes made by nature or humans. Primary Succession is when it happens where no soil exists. And the Secondary Succession where it happens where there is already an environment.

  42. ecological sucession-a series of predictable changes that occur in a community over time. primary succesion occurs on land where no soil exists. an example of this could be after volcano rocks have been sitting there for a while mosses soon appear. secondary seccession happens when a disturbance is over the community tends to restore itself to its original condition. an example could be a forest fire. the fire comes through clears the spot out and then soon after the forest begins to rebuild itsef.

  43. Ecological Succession is the series of predictable changes that occurs in a community over time. There are two different types of succession. Primary Succession is the succession that occurs on surfaces where no soil exists. For example, primary succession occurs on bare rock exposed when glaciers melt. Moreover, Secondary Succession is the succession following a disturbance that destroys a community without destroying the soil. For example, secondary succession occurs after wildfires burn woodlands and when land cleared for farming is abandoned.
